Poster session at ALA Annual

We have good news! Our poster session for ALA's Annual conference has been accepted!

Survey closed unexpectedly

Back in December, most of the KLN LibQual+ coordinators were surprised to learn on the morning of what we thought was the last day of our survey that our survey was already closed. It turns out that when one sets their end date, the survey closes at midnight that day--meaning at the very start of that day.

Library Assessment dot Info

libraryassessment.info is a blog for and by librarians interested in academic library service assessment, evaluation and improvement supported by the Association of Research Libraries. I just read about it in the LibQual+ Update newsletter. We might want to check it out--and maybe contribute.

Another reminder sent at EUP

Another reminder was set during the late afternoon today. We immediately had a spike in response rate. Our response rate, however, is still very low. Currently at 675 total.

First reminder email sent after more technical difficulties

Our survey completion rate dropped off significantly after the responses the day of the initial notification (November 6th). Last week, we intended to send a remind on Wednesday, November 15th, but found that once again the permission to send an all employees or all students email had been revoked from our survey help email account. The reminder went out on Friday, November 17th, and we had another spike in survey completions that day.

In spite of technical problems, survey is active

Our survey is now live and email messages have been sent to the all students and all employees lists. This was done via a LibQual help email account we asked our Technology & Communications department to set up specifically for LibQual. It is a delegate email address, meaning that multiple users have access to send email from the account.

We decided to have the message sent from our library director via the LibQual email address. We had been told that permission was granted for that account to send to the all students list, but Monday morning when the email was sent, we discovered that access had NOT been granted. This was straightened out by Monday afternoon and the email with the link to the survey was sent.

PASSHE LibQual Experience

This blog is where Clayton and Liz will keep notes about their experience coordinating the LibQual survey for their academic institutions as part of a consortium.
